The defensive pair, who sadly missed much of the double-winning campaign through injury, have committed their immediate futures to the Club.
Prestwich-born McManus, the Blues’ longest serving player, has penned her first professional deal – a two-year contract – and she is thrilled.
“I’m buzzing that I have a full-time contract,” she told ManCity.com.
“I’ve been here at the club for eight years and I’m happy to be making it nine! It was a nice touch to finish off rehab.
“I was devastated to get injured – I had been in the team, playing every game – but it’s just part of football I guess.
“Now I can concentrate on next year. Getting back into the team is my main priority.
“This is where I want to be and I have no intention of being anywhere else. I’m thankful to be here and I want to repay Nick’s faith in me by keeping my shirt, when I’m back to full fitness.”
Campbell, who joined City in February from Florida State University, also hopes to show what she can do in the New Year.
“I’m pleased,” she declared. “This year hasn’t been good for me in terms of injuries but I’m happy to get the extension and hopefully, prove myself in the team once again.
“Once I signed that paperwork, I felt the relief.
“Nick [Cushing] and I had many a conversation. He told me to keep my head down and that he’d seen potential in me, which is why City signed me. He said they wanted me here and that took a lot of stress off.
“I feel I’ve made the right choice to work in these facilities with the best staff and players to help me along.
“It’s going to be tough in January when everyone is back fit. We’re wanting to retain both trophies, and win the FA Cup – plus we have the Champions League quarter-finals – so it’s going to be interesting in terms of starting XIs.
“It’s where you want to be as a footballer – in contention and fighting for positions. I’m really looking forward to it.”
“We’re really pleased to secure Megan and Abbie on new contracts,” he stated. “Young players are this team’s future, although they have already contributed massively through the season.
“We know there is potential for their contributions to be even greater and is was a priority for us to keep hold of our key players – even before signing any new ones.
“Megan has had a frustrating year through injury but in the few games she did play, she showed why we signed her and what she can bring to the team. We really value her and we know she can have a big future here.
“Abbie is a young player, who has been at the club since its days as an amateur team. She has a lot of potential and I think she is yet to show how good she can be.
“This club is about more than just winning trophies – we want to create players who want to play for the shirt and the fans. We want them to be proud to be play for City and by showing you care about people, you get that.”
